Browse your port, check the date and terms on any available price, and use the calculator to estimate your catch value after the costs you enter. You do not need an account for these tools.

For buyers and fuel suppliers

Create your own account, confirm your email and submit a genuine quote. Include its unit, date and terms. You can allow publication if you own the quotation or have permission; otherwise it stays private.

Clear prices, clear gaps

The owner reviews submissions before separately approving any public price. Expired and withdrawn quotes disappear from the public price list. A missing price stays marked unavailable. Quayvanta does not promise a sale, fuel availability or a live auction feed.

What we collect and why

For an account we process your email, authentication records and a securely managed password credential. For a submission we process your business name, quotation, port, product, date, source notes and permission details. Account and submission processing is necessary to provide the service you request under our terms (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Security and moderation records are processed for our legitimate interests in protecting accounts and checking trustworthy quotations (Article 6(1)(f)); you may object.

You can browse prices, ports and calculate without giving us an account email. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not sent to Quayvanta’s database. Service providers may process connection and security logs, including IP addresses.

Fishing photos and likes

You can optionally upload a fishing photo to a public community or deckhand post. It is visible to anyone, including people without an account. The app resizes photos into a new JPEG before uploading, rather than uploading your original file. Do not include private details or people who have not agreed to appear. Public copies or screenshots cannot be recalled.

Likes are linked to your account to prevent duplicates. Public posts show total likes; individual liker identities are not published. You can unlike a post and remove your own posts. Photo files use Supabase Storage; removed posts no longer grant new public photo access. Some issued image links can remain usable briefly. Moderation records may be retained, as described below.

Who can see it

Your account email, submissions, source notes and permission details are available to you and the owner for administration and review. Other buyers cannot read your private submissions. A public quote contains the price, product, port, unit, date, chosen business source name and approved public terms. We publish it only when display permission has been provided and checked by the owner. Do not submit confidential third-party information.

Supabase provides database and authentication processing. The project’s database is hosted in its eu-west-1 (Ireland) region. Google Gmail sends Quayvanta authentication emails, including sign-in, confirmation and recovery messages, through the owner’s configured sender. Cloudflare Turnstile checks sign-in, registration and account-recovery requests for bots. Cloudflare processes browser and connection signals for this security check. Cloudflare Workers hosts the main Quayvanta address; OpenAI Sites provides the earlier hosting address. These hosting providers process the connection information necessary to serve the website. Technical providers may process data internationally under their applicable data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. We do not sell account or submission information.

Membership payments

If you choose membership, Stripe processes checkout and receives your account email and an account reference so payment can be linked to the right member. Quayvanta stores payment and event identifiers, amount, currency, membership expiry, and refund or dispute status. Full card details are handled by Stripe, not stored in Quayvanta. These records support paid access, accounting, security and refund handling. Payment buys fish-price posting access only. All other features are free.

Public market feeds

Marine-weather requests go directly to Met Éireann while its page is open; forecasts and warnings are checked each minute without persistent weather caching. Public price requests go directly to CSO, FuelWide, fuel-prices.eu and Spain’s MITECO. Those providers receive ordinary network details such as your IP address; we do not send your account details or private submissions. Public price responses are cached in your browser for six-hour update checks. Clear your browser site data to remove this cache.

Storage and retention

This app stores necessary sign-in information in your browser tab’s session storage. Signing out clears that tab’s session and attempts server logout. There are no advertising trackers, analytics scripts or non-essential cookies in this website.

Account details are kept while the account is active. We review inactive accounts and private submissions after 12 months and remove information no longer needed for service, security or a documented dispute. Records required for a dispute are limited to what is necessary and reviewed when it ends. This is an owner-managed retention review, not an automatic deletion service. Expiry hides public prices; it does not delete private records or database backups immediately.

Community, deckhands and friends

Community and Deckhands posts are public, including the display name, country and role saved with each post. Other members can request friendship. Friend connections and requests are visible in the app only to their participants. The Friends feed filters public posts; it does not make those posts private. We store request attempts to prevent spam. Removing a friendship does not remove private conversation history or previously published posts. Reports are available to the owner for moderation.

Your choices and rights

Optional messaging profiles list your chosen display name and self-described role to signed-in members when enabled. Private message text is stored for the two conversation participants, with authorised administrative access for operation, support and legal obligations. Turning off messaging removes you from the contact list and pauses sending, but does not erase earlier conversations. Contact support for access, export or deletion requests. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted.

Use “Download my submission data” in your account for your current app records. Email us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or to object to legitimate-interest processing. You can ask us to withdraw a public quotation. We may need to verify your identity and will normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions or exceptions. No account details are used to sign you up for marketing.

You can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission. This service does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Fish-price posting membership

Posting fish prices costs €7 in total for 12 months. All other features are free, including public posts, friends, private chat, deckhands, fuel quotations and viewing prices. Fish-price submissions remain subject to review and permission before public display.

One payment covers 12 months. No automatic renewal or yearly charge; renew manually when needed. Stripe processes payment. A full refund removes the fish-price posting access associated with that payment; a dispute may pause that paid access while reviewed. Free features stay available. Quayvanta membership

Quayvanta provides port information, reviewed quotations, a calculator and private quote submissions. Contributor submissions are limited to 20 per hour and 100 in a rolling 24-hour period per account to reduce spam. Only fish-price posting costs €7 for 12 months, with manual renewal and no automatic yearly charge. Everything else is free. Payment does not guarantee that a submitted quotation will be published. Fish purchases and sales are agreed directly with the supplier or buyer; Quayvanta does not process those orders.

Use your own email and keep your password private. Contributor accounts are intended for adults representing their own business or authorised to contribute its quotations. Do not impersonate someone, scrape private records, submit fabricated prices or interfere with another account.

Your quotations

Only submit information you are entitled to share. Private review does not automatically publish it. Where you give display permission, you grant Quayvanta a non-exclusive, no-fee permission to display the submitted price, product, unit, port, date, authorised business source name and approved public terms for this service. You retain your rights. Contact us if permission changes or the quote is incorrect; we can withdraw it.

The owner may reject, correct through a replacement submission, expire or withdraw a quotation. Do not upload or copy material from a price-reporting service unless its terms permit this use. Do not include other people’s personal details without a valid reason and permission where needed.

Check before relying on a price

A dated quote may depend on quantity, presentation, VAT or duty, delivery and other terms. Reviewed means the owner reviewed the record; it is not a guarantee of the underlying price or supplier availability. Confirm directly before agreeing a transaction. No missing price is inferred.

The calculator is an estimate using the values you enter. It does not include costs you omit, guarantee returns or establish fishing or landing permissions. Check applicable harbour and fishing requirements independently.

Service and rights

This pilot may change or experience outages. Contact us about errors or access problems. We may restrict accounts used abusively and will consider reasonable corrections or appeals. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or override your statutory rights.
